This project consisted of the complete renovation and expansion of
an existing 430,000 SF classic Washington, DC concrete structure with
8 levels above grade and 3 levels of parking below. The project included
the addition of 220,000 SF of new office space in the form of a horizontal
and vertical expansion. Concrete bays were added to floors two to eight
and three steel framed levels were added vertically, bringing the
structure to stand 11 stories tall. The new upper levels were constructed
of composite steel. Foundations were upgraded using minipile
underpinning. Structural security features were added to meet tenant and
GSA requirements.
