   Structural Renovation

  The Woodward Building

   Washington, DC

The Woodward Building, built in 1910, is a steel-framed, 11-story

office building. This project involved the restoration and conversion of

the building to residential apartments.  The basement was converted

into a parking garage and included the removal of 5 tower height

columns at the basement level.  Roof framing was strengthening to

support new roof loads and elevator shafts were converted to

accommodate modern elevator systems.  Foundation and column

   rehabilition were also required.
